" The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear." - Aung San Suu Kyi
Introduction
Think about your day so far. You've probably walked out to your car, driven to work and walked on the street.
But think for a moment:
Did you fear for you life between the back door and your car?
Was every step you took a potential end to the life you now know?
Landmines cause this fear, and with an estimated 70-80 million currently in the ground, the communities in over 70 countries world-wide live with the unforgiving and blatantly permanent physical and psychological damage. Living with a handicap creates more issues than an inability to walk - social rejection and isolation soon rear their ugly heads, and many families are forced into a cycle of poverty.
The simple task of walking is extremely dangerous, and many find that they are forced to stay within the bounds of their homes. Imprisoned with fear, they are not free to earn an income for their families or educate their children.
Our aim now is to remove this fear, by beginning The Global Clean-Up. Spreading awareness for this issue will encourage as many people as possible to support aid organisations, such as The HALO Trust, Cambodian Self Help Demining (CSHD), Mines Advisory Group (MAG), Vietnam Veterans Mine Clearing Team (VVMCT) and International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL).
Look after our planet - we only have one.

"Life is about making choices: you can either spend three quid on a glossy magazine or you can spend it clearing three square metres of minefield and help give people their lives back.
As simple as that." -Twiggy Lawson
